Final: Proposal
For my end project, I really wanted to keep with the music theme I did all throughout class. I really enjoyed working with wire in the start of class because I've never got to really experiment with it. I chose to make my piece out of wire also because it would be inexpensive. I had a lot of wire left over and basically the only expense would be the open-back frame. My plan was to use eye hooks and stretch wire across making it the measure of music. I also purchased some inexpensive colored wire from Hobby Lobby to make the music notes pop out and stand out from the rest of the piece. If I was to think big, I would love to see a piece similar to this in the window of some music venue. It would be a large piece of work that could be looked at. I like the end result, if I would've had more time, I would've liked to make some more measures from a song, like a whole verse.
Plaster Carving
For my plaster project, I decided to make a heart with a music note in front of it. I thought it would be cool to keep it the curved shape it had from being poured into a bucket. Even though in the end, you couldn't really tell that is what it was made from. I have worked with plaster in high school and I think I've improved on my carving skills. It is a lot harder then it looks. In the end I like how it turned out and it reminds me of an abstract piece.

Casting Multiples
For this project, I decided to make some flower pots. I wanted to be able and make a piece that I could actually use in the end. When I started, I had a bit of a problem with my plaster mold drying out. Since it was a one-piece mold the process took a bit longer. Once my mold was ready, the flower pots had no problem coming out. Overall I am happy with the end result and hope to glaze them.

Modeling the Hand in Clay
In this assignment, the hand gesture that I came up with was the "rock on." Once again, this shows the love I have for music. I thought it would be an interesting thing to do. It was rather challenging, I have never modeled a hand out of clay before. The first thing I did to start was form my palm. I then moved onto the fingers. I wanted to make sure I could get the appropriate width of my hand. Once I thought the hand was the right size, I was able to go back on work on the little details. I also ended up building a base on the bottom of my wrist to make it a little more stable from falling over. This also gave the hand a little different look of presentation in the end.
Cross Contour Line/Wire Assignment
For this assignment, I wanted to pick something that represented me. I love to go to concerts and when I do, I always wear a pair of one of my Converse Shoes. I decided to pick the pair with the lime green shoe laces. I was able to find some green wire at Hobby Lobby for them. For the wire, I used a couple different thicknesses to show color and width of objects on the shoe. Overall, I'm really happy with the end result. A lot of work I do ends up looking a little abstract. I enjoyed this project and it was a little challenge for me since I have never worked with wire. Hopefully I can experiment with some other objects down the road.
